When he got to college, things started to get difficult for Marcus. On top of keeping up with football and all his classes, Marcus began feeling overwhelmed. Then Marcus met the player and couldn’t help but be head over heels for the player. Asking the player out for Marcus hadn’t been difficult, loving the player was never hard for him, what became increasingly difficult was keeping from the player, how much he’d begun to rely on adderall to help him focus to study and to do better at football. He fears disappointment from his teammates, his aunt, and especially the player. He doesn’t realize how bad his addiction has gotten to the point of using the pills even when he doesn’t need them, or figuring out who he could buy them from next. He doesn’t talk much at all about his past with his father to the player and has never once mentioned it, or how it affected him growing up. He’s not sure if he should ever bring it up and tells himself if it ever comes out, that he might tell the player based on how the player reacts to anything. He loves the player deeply, even if he’s been too nervous to say the words I love you to the player given there’s much that the player doesn’t know.
